Incidents Series - Part 17

Postby Stormwing on Mon Sep 19, 2011 6:49 pm

Great now I just have mental images of Teal'c Ice Skating around in my brain.

So roughly 2 more months eh? I wonder what could possibly happen, I'm sure it'll all be smooth sailing..... :roltf:

Personally, I'm having more of a problem with the image of Teal'c wearing an eggnog mustache being stuck in my head. :D

51 more days, to be precise. And, yes, I'm sure that everything will be peaceful and quiet throughout that time. >;-D
Dr. Markov: If you're implying that everything Russian-made is poor quality, actually the sub is Swiss.
Daniel: So they occasionally catch fire, but they keep perfect time? Sorry. I think I've been hanging around Jack O'Neill too much.

Hahaha yeah but see if I thought about that one instead I'd start thinking about other things like wanting to lick it off.

Awww...nice to see this one reappear!

It's funny, but I wrote a story about Daniel and Cassie falling in love a few years ago. My sister asked me for one, and I just couldn't turn her down. I'd never seen the two of them together, for obvious reasons, and I don't think I'd ever write it again. That being said, some of what you wrote was the basis for my story as well. It was fun to revisit that idea through your eyes and see the possibilities again.

The fact that they'd both been orphans was kind of a way for them to bond, and it was fun to read it in this story. Of course Cassie would see Daniel as being cute and sweet, but I like how she realized that he was still the same Daniel--maybe slightly improved--that he'd always been. Lovely little moments throughout this story.

And I have to say, Teal'c with the eggnog mustache and the blissed out expression? Priceless! I love those moments when the alien among us experiences things for the first time that we take for granted. Of course, the eggnog wasn't new, but seeing it through Cassie's eyes made it seem that way.

And he's still got two months to go? I agree with Stormwing: just how much trouble can one rapidly ageing archeologist get into in just two months? Probably not a good idea to ask...

Stormwing! Such naughty thoughts. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. ;-D

Unless it was a situation like this one, where Daniel had been reduced in age and had no memories from before, there is no way that it would ever happen. Just being reduced in age alone wouldn't be enough. Having the memories of Cassie as a child would forever shape his perspective of and feelings for her.

I always thought that it would be nice to write a story in which Cassie is having real issues about the adoption, losing her parents, and everything else, and it's Daniel who gets through to her by telling her about his own experiences as an orphan and foster child. There was a story I read that took place when Cassie was a teenager that had Daniel be the one to resolve the problem, but I'd have the story happen either before the adoption is final or shortly after.

Becoming reacquainted with Daniel as a 23-year-old was a real eye-opener for Cassie. She was seeing stuff that she'd never paid much attention to before. After the incident at the skating rink, she believed that he'd changed a lot, and Janet had to correct that belief.

You can thank my friend Cindy for the eggnog thing. We were talking about the story over the phone, and she came up with the idea of Teal'c being in love with eggnog. I thought it was hilarious and had to put it in.

It's a little over 7 weeks, actually, but that's still a long time to expect him to stay out of trouble, especially in light of what's already happened since he was downsized.
